Meet the Docs
Dr. Louis Beaudette
Dr. Louis A. Beaudette, fondly known as “Dr. Lou” by many of his patients, has been practicing since 1973. He received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and later was accepted as a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. Before beginning his dental career, he volunteered for three years with the United States Air Force and was stationed in Labrador with the 868 Medical Group.
Dr. Beaudette has always been involved with his profession and the improvement of dental care. He has served as president of the New England Foundation for Continuing Dental Education, the New England Dental Society, the Vermont State Dental Society, and was appointed by the Governor of Vermont to serve on the Board of Dental Examiners where he also served as president. He was then appointed to the National Board of Dental Examiners where he traveled the nation administering to dental students entering the profession. He has practiced as a solo dentist and in 2014 joined with Dr. Robert S. Ruhl to form Deerfield Valley Dental Care. Although he is a general practitioner, he considers his “specialty” to be Crown and Bridge and creating beautiful smiles.
Dr. Beaudette is married to his wife, Cynthia and has raised four great kids, now out of the nest. In his spare time he can be found gardening, walking his dogs and hard at work at not being the worst golfer in the Deerfield Valley!
Dr. Robert Ruhl
Dr. Robert Ruhl is proud to have served patients in the Deerfield Valley Community since 1979.
Through continuing education and state-of-the-art equipment, he is able to offer you and your family the high level of dental care you deserve. Dr. Ruhl graduated from Allegheny College and Temple University School of Dental Medicine in 1979, where he received a well-rounded perspective and solid basis for his clinical career as a dentist. The practice has been marked by his continual pursuit of professional growth, staying current with the latest advances by training directly under the masters in various key areas of dentistry. Those who know him best know him to be a meticulous artisan and a man of great integrity, both as a dentist and in his private life.
Dr. Ruhl is affiliated with Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and founded the Bright Smiles Program at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where he practices hospital-based dentistry for children and adults with special needs. Dr. Ruhl served on the board of the Vermont State Dental Society. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry. He serves on the Vermont Board of Dental Examiners.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ruhl is a 32nd degree Mason and a Past Deputy Grand Master. He is a founder of the Pool Learning Center that provides educational services for dyslexic students. He is a member of the Regional Advisory Board of Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and a charter member of that organization’s Foundation Board. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, painting and spending time with his wife, Halie and their family.

Dr. Jeffrey Wallace
Dr. Jeffrey W. Wallace was born in Hyattsville, Maryland, and moved to Vermont in 1985. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in 1977, and went on to Howard University Dental School, graduating in 1981 with honors. He then preformed a general practice residency with rotations in oral surgery, emergency medicine, removable and fixed prosthetics, endodontics, and periodontics. He was stationed in Wurzburg, Germany, treating hundreds of soldiers. He then moved to Vermont and began practicing in Townshend.
Continuing education has been a big part of his life, and he’s attended courses all over the United States and internationally. He’s learned from the biggest names in dental education, including Dawson, Spear, and Pankey. With over 1,000 hours in continuing education, he feels comfortable saying he’s seen and heard almost everything. In 2003 he joined an elite group of dentists making up the United States Dental Tennis Association, bringing together continuing education and tennis with his colleagues.
Currently Dr. Wallace and his wife Adele live in West Chesterfield, NH, and together they enjoy travel, tennis, and life near the Connecticut River.
